Good to know about the Monegasque licence

  • ResidenceIt is reserved for people whose normal residence is in Monaco: Monegasque nationality, or a residence permit with at least 185 days of presence per year.
  • Age 18Minimum age for the B licence. The theory test can be taken two months before.
  • TheoryA Highway Code specific to the Principality: 40 questions, 5 mistakes maximum. Once passed, it remains valid for 5 years.

Documents to provide

  • Photocopy of your Monegasque ID card (front and back) or residence permit
  • Photocopy of your driving licence
  • For minors: photocopy of the legal guardians' ID cards or their residence permits
  • 2 photographs (front-facing)
  • Medical certificate less than 3 months old (on the official form)
  • Service des Titres de la Circulation fee: 1 cheque payable to the Service des Titres de la Circulation (amount set each year, given at registration)
